The public initiative "We are against the Re-opening of Foreign-Language Schools" will continue its protest against the amended laws on education, and language, which recently received Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's approval.
The activists of the movement conduct their campaign in three directions.
As member of the initiative Aram Manukyan told Tert.am, they are first of all planning to argue the legitimacy of those legal acts and their conformability with Armenian and international laws.
He said the laws conflict with Armenia's Declaration of Independence, as well as the relevant UN Convention.
As a second step, he spoke of activities with foreign states.
"We are planning to call on foreign countries' governments to take relevant measures to enhance the quality of teaching their languages in Armenia," he added.
As for the third direction, the activist said it involved cooperation with the Diaspora. The members of the initiative intend to call on the Diaspora Armenians not to make any investment in projects aimed at re-opening foreign language schools.
The group has no plans to organize public events for the time being, however, it does not rule out such possibility either.
"We organize public events upon necessity. Should we find it necessary, we'll do so," he said
