Impossible to ignore Iran

Global experience shows people are ready to reach understanding on economic interests, RA President Serzh Sargsyan said delivering a speech at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

“All the examples show the economic cooperation can provide a long-term stability and solution to political problems. South Caucuses can combine all these interests: partner countries, regional leaders, investors, Sargsyan said. In the light of sanctions against Iran, RA President said some will skeptically treat his stance on Iran, however, he added Iran should not be ignored in the solution of regional issues. “It is important for the region to dispel Iran’s feeling of danger. Without it there is no solution either to future problems or nuclear issue,” he added.
“But will South Caucasian ‘economic pie’ be enough for all? Division of a small pie might not satisfy everyone. The right decision is not to give the pie to one or two sides. The point is we have just to cook a bigger one,” Serzh Sargsyan noted. Instead of speaking of a deadlock and closed borders, the region should become a traffic center, linking north, south, west and east, he emphasized.
The President also presented programs implemented by Armenia jointly with neighboring states.
