Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu’s statement on his intention to meet with representatives of Armenian Diaspora indicates that either Ankara radically changed its course towards Armenian Genocide or Turkey re-attempts to imitate the intensification of the dialogue with Armenians, Head of ARFD “Hay Dat” Office in Europe Hilda Choboyan informed NEWS.am.
She finds unlikely Ankara's position change on Genocide overnight and made a decision to talk to Diaspora representatives.
“Turkey rather tries to imitate a dialogue with Diaspora on the threshold of 95th commemoration of Armenian Genocide to prevent the accelerated process of Armenian Genocide recognition internationally,” she emphasized. According to her, Diaspora representatives will dissent from such meetings, if realize it damages the international recognition of Genocide.
Recently, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced his intention to hold meetings with Armenian Diaspora representatives.
