Ankara realizes that tensed relations with the Jewish organizations of Israel and U.S. cost Turkey.
According to Sabah, during their meeting with Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu the Jewish organizations of U.S. expressed their discontent with Ankara’s recent position. The Jewish lobbyists also expressed dissatisfaction with Turkish-Israeli strained relations, Ankara’s support for Iran when the resolution by UN Security Council was adopted, as well as the fact that Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not meet with the Jewish organizations in the course of his visit to U.S. The obstacles to establishment of the Armenian-Turkish relations were discussed as well.
Taking into account sentiments of the Jewish lobby, President Abdullah Gul intends to hold meetings with the representatives of the Jewish organizations during his visit to U.S. in order to prevent adoption of the Genocide resolution in Congress and put an end to anti-Turkish sentiments. Ankara also expects that during Gul’s visit (September 19) the issue on appointment of a new Ambassador to Turkey will be solved.
