Turkish FM names preconditions
for border opening

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu touched upon the prospects of the Armenia-Turkey border opening in his speech on one of the Turkish TV channels and sang the same song over and over again.
As to any developments related to the Armenia-Turkey Protocols, Davutoglu said Turkey views Caucasus as a whole and wishes all the obstacles to be removed, which also involves the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border, Turkish Star daily reports.
However, Turkish FM again reiterated the preconditions for the border opening. According to him, to eliminate physical barriers, it is necessary to first eliminate psychological, political and geopolitical barriers. Caucasus should become a whole economic basin. That is, it is necessary for Armenia to stop the “occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani lands,” he said, stressing Armenia-Turkey relations are at the highest level within the recent 20 years.
