A group of Armenians went on a traditional pilgrimage to a chapel at the top of Maruta Mountain.
A group of Armenians went on a traditional pilgrimage to a chapel at the top of Maruta Mountain.
The pilgrimage was organized jointly by the Sason city hall (Batman province of Turkey) and Sason center of culture and education, Zaman reported.
The pilgrims lit candles and prayed in the chapel. Armenians climbed the mountain together with Arabs, who visited a shrine of Bazit sheikh near the mountain.
Maruta, also called Maratuk is located in the Sason district of Turkey (Western Armenia).
