Tehran, Nov 10, IRNA – The 90th birthday anniversary was held Tuesday night for Iran's first physicist, an Armenian lady known as the 'Mother of Iran's Astrology.'
Lady Alnosh Torian is a member of Iran's Armenian community and the first female professor of Iran's universities.

Her birthday ceremony was attended by a number of members of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Armenian MPs in particular, as well as over one hundred members of Iran's Armenian community.
A message was sent on the occasion to the ceremony by Archbishop of Tehran Sebu Sarkissian who referred to Lady Torian as one of the founders of Iran's Geophysics.
The ceremony was held at Ararat Club in north of the Iranian capital which is used by Armenian community for holding their public gatherings and sport events.
Lady Torian succeeded to receive her BA degree in Physics from Tehran University in 1947 and her Ph.D from the Sorbonne University in France in 1956. Eight years later (1964), she became the first professor in Physics in Tehran University.
Being the founder of Iran's first observatory and solar telescope, the lady was named as one of the elite Iranian women in 2006.
She was also awarded with the St. Mesrop Mashtots Medal by spiritual Leader of the world Armenian community Archbishop Jasliq Aram the First.
