Preamble to Madrid Principles elaborated

Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents elaborated preamble to Madrid Principles, so-called fundamental principles of Karabakh conflict settlement in the course of trilateral Jan. 25 meeting in Sochi. The document contains prospects on resolution of Karabakh conflict, RF Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the journalists.
However, he made no reply on preamble content, referring to the confidentiality of talks. “The negotiations turned into reality from abstract words and all proposals elaborated by OSCE MG were canvassed at the meeting,” he said. According to him, it is critical for the sides to have common understanding of the conflict settlement terms, as well as accord to continue the talks. Lavrov also added that trilateral negotiations are aimed at assisting OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
