Istanbul blast
November 01, 2010 02:09
Turkish media is puzzled at comments of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding Istanbul blast. In his speech Erdogan directly accused protectors of historical monuments.
Speaking at the opening of building in Mardin province, Erdogan touched upon the Oct. 31 blast in Istanbul and also accused those opposing construction of a dam in Hasankeyf, a historical site in Batman province, Bianet website reported.
The Firat news agency was also bewildered at Erdogan’s comments which compared protectors of historical monuments with organizers of terrorist attack in Istanbul. “For instance, Tarkan is one of the protectors of Hasankeyf. These words reveal Premier’s his true face. Erdogan does not give up accusations against protectors of Hasankeyf,” news agency wrote.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, blast in Taksim Square of Istanbul injured 32 people, including 15 policemen and 17 civilians.
