Armenian delegation raised its concerns over the destruction of a medieval Armenian cemetery and cross-stones in Nor Jugha, Nakhichevan, during a Black See Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly's 36th session held in Trabzon, Turkey.
In a press conference held today Head of Standing Committee of Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of Armenia's National Assembly Gagik Minasyan said that the assembly discussed issues related to cross-cultural and cross-civilization dialogues, as well as to the roles of parliaments in such issues.
Gagik Minasyan also said that while addressing the assembly he touched upon Turkey's blockade of Armenia, adding that closed borders are not proper to 21st century.
"Turkish delegates would not oppose to my comments," said Mr Minasyan, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other top officials were attending the assembly.
Speaking about the closed Turkish-Armenian Turkish delegates, in his words, said that their authorities spend great efforts to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"They said that the country's leadership is having problems with the opposition and Azerbaijan. Their opinion is as follows: there is no and there will not be any silent diplomacy. They said that the Protocols should either be ratified, or the process should be stopped," said he.
Further Mr Minasyan mentioned that the Turkish delegates also said that the opening of the border is at the interest of both the Armenian and Turkish societies.
