Official Baku is trying to pass the desirable for reality instead of speaking of the actual agreements reached by the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Saint Petersburg, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan stated, commenting on Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov’s statement that the withdrawal of Nagorno-Karabakh forces from Kelbajar and Lachin will be the main issue on the agenda of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Almaty.
“The withdrawal of Nagorno-Karabakh forces from any territories is out of the question as long as Azerbaijan refuses to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh’s status as a result of the 1992 referendum and withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh,” Sh. Kocharyan said.
Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov, are to meet in Almaty on July 16-17.
